Laura's Visit and a Snowy Day

Laura and her girls came to visit for spring break. Their heater broke and it's still butt freezing in CO so they decided to come visit us here. Unfortunately they brought some cold with them. It snowed the day after they arrived. And I'm not talking the usual New Mexico frost on the grass; but a whole 3 inches of snow!

Personally, I despise the snow; but Simeon doesn't get to see it very often so I get excited about it for his sake. We had to hurry and get him out in it because by the time we finished breakfast it was already starting to melt :)

This is my favorite. He's throwing a snowball at me :)

"Gotta clear the snow off my car"

He decided that his gloves would make nice socks :)

Aside from the snow, we had a really great time with Laura's family. We all went to the Aquarium while they were here. Unfortunately I got there and then found out that my SD card wasn't in my camera. I had thrown it in my video camera one day when my camera's batteries were dead. My camera can't hold very much on it's internal memory so I didn't take very many pictures. It's okay, because I took a lot of great pictures of the Aquarium when we took Simeon for his Birthday.
Nubbins watching the fish. "That's pretty neat!"

Laura's girls wanted to ride the train home but I really wanted to hit up the Botanical Garden while we were there. I was pretty excited to find out that the Aquarium ticket will also get you into the garden. I always thought you had to buy a separate ticket or a combo pass. Simeon is still free so I paid $7 and got to see both ^_^ You can't beat that!
The Botanical Gardens is divided into separate gardens - The Spanish Garden, the Japanese Garden, the tea garden, the bridal garden, etc. One of the first gardens is the children's garden. It is designed to make you feel like Honey I shrunk the Kids.  Everything is scaled super big. Simeon was obsessed with this giant bee. It even buzzed when you walked under it.

He was actually getting super tired or else he would look much more enthusiastic in this picture. But then we found a really cool slide and it perked him right up :)

I seriously had to drag him away from this thing :) But he was getting so tired that he was stumbling up the steps each time :) Still we had lots of fun so I'm really glad that we stayed. Seth and I want to go back when he is on break and spend more time there. Plus he hasn't actually been to the Aquarium yet and it's so awesome :)

Now I really should post some pictures of Laura's family since this post is supposed to be about their visit :) Simeon also had a GREAT time playing with his cousins. Her girls like to play kitty-cat and Simeon has picked it up since they left. So cute!
Audrey told me that she is the mommy, Simeon is the daddy, and Hayley is the kitty-cat and they are going to have a picnic. Love the big shoes they are wearing :)

Such fun little friends!

It must be nice to be a 3-year-old and love snow...you don't have to shovel it or drive in it, just play in it. :)

And SO JEALOUS of getting to see Laura and Co! Lucky!

What a great post! That's so funny - I didn't hear that Audrey had assigned parts (not that I'm surprised). That's hysterical that he's still pretending to be a kitty-cat. :)

LOVE the snow shots. Simeon looks especially cute with pink cheeks and nose.
